Direct Answer
To use your own German mobile proxy in Octoparse, open Task Settings → Anti-blocking, check Access websites via proxies, choose Use my own proxies, click Configure, and enter your endpoint as IP:Port. Octoparse authenticates custom proxies by IP whitelist (not username/password), so whitelist your IP in your GermanProxy.io dashboard first.
What to Know Before You Start
Octoparse is a no-code, point-and-click scraper. Two honest limits shape the setup for your own proxy:
- IP-whitelist authentication. For custom proxies Octoparse uses the
IP:Portformat only — it does not acceptusername:passwordhere. GermanProxy.io supports IP whitelisting, so add your own IP to the allow-list in your dashboard, then Octoparse can connect without credentials. - Custom proxies run locally. Your own proxy applies to local runs on your machine; Octoparse's cloud runs use Octoparse's own IPs.
You'll need from your GermanProxy.io account: your endpoint host and port, and your current public IP added to the whitelist.
Step-by-Step
- Open your task and go to Task Settings.
- Open the Anti-blocking tab.
- Check Access websites via proxies.
- Select Use my own proxies, then click Configure.
- Enter your endpoint in
IP:Portformat (e.g.203.0.113.10:10000). Add more lines if you have several endpoints. - Set the Switch interval to match your session type:
- Sticky session → a longer interval (e.g. 600 s) to keep the same German mobile IP.
- Rotating → a short interval to request a fresh IP more often.
- Click Confirm, then Save.
Verify the IP First
Create a quick task that loads an IP-echo page (e.g. https://api.ipify.org) and extract the text. Run it on your device in Standard Mode (local). It should show a German mobile IP. If it shows your own address, re-check that the proxy is enabled in Anti-blocking and that your IP is whitelisted.
Sticky Sessions vs. Rotation
The Switch interval is your rotation control: a long interval keeps a single German mobile IP across a multi-step extraction; a short interval rotates more often to spread load. The country stays German throughout. See sticky sessions and IP rotation explained.

Scrape Responsibly
A mobile proxy improves reliability for legitimate data collection — it is not a tool to circumvent access controls or platform rules. Respect each site's robots.txt and terms, set a sensible request rate in Octoparse, collect only what you need, and handle any personal data in line with the GDPR. FAQ
Does Octoparse support username/password for my own proxy?
Not for custom proxies — it uses IP:Port only. Authenticate by adding your IP to the whitelist in your GermanProxy.io dashboard instead.
Can I use my own proxy on Octoparse cloud runs?
No. Your own proxy applies to local runs on your device; cloud runs use Octoparse's built-in IPs.
HTTP or SOCKS5?
For custom proxies, Octoparse's own-proxy field is HTTP-based. See SOCKS5 vs HTTP proxy for when each matters.
My German IP changed and the proxy stopped working — why?
IP whitelisting ties access to your public IP. If your IP changes, update the whitelist entry in your dashboard.
